Each One Teach One Programs

At EOTO, we aim to help adults 18 years and older achieve their literacy goals through one-on-one and small-group instruction. We offer small-group tutoring in English as a Second Language (ESL) and one-on-one tutoring in GED preparation and Adult Basic Education (ABE). Lessons are individualized to address the specific needs of each unique learner. All services are FREE and materials are included.

GED® Preparation

For adults 18 years and older interested in earning a Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency diploma. Receive tutoring in all four GED® subjects:  Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Social Studies, and Science.  Services include:

  • One-on-one tutoring

  • Self-paced lessons

  • Flexible scheduling

  • In person or online tutoring

  • Open enrollment

  • 24/7 access to online learning software

Adult Basic Education

For adults 18 years and older who already have a high school diploma but want to improve their basic reading, writing, and math skills. Services include: 

  • One-on-one tutoring

  • Self-paced lessons

  • Flexible scheduling

  • In person or online tutoring

  • Open enrollment

  • 24/7 access to online learning software

English as a Second Language (ESL)

For adults 18 years and older who want to improve their English language skills. Learners of all levels are welcome.

Services include:

  • Small-group instruction

  • Convenient class times

  • Relevant lessons

  • In person or online

  • Credential evaluation for professionals

Enrollment

Enrollment requirements:

  • By appointment only in person

  • Must have a government-issued photo ID or birth certificate

  • 18-year-old students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless living alone

The enrollment process takes 2-3 hours and includes:

  • Completing enrollment forms

  • Baseline assessments in math and reading for GED and ABE Students

  • Baseline assessments in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for ESL students

  • Consultation with a literacy or ESL instructor
